In April 2015 English Heritage separated into two organisations: Historic England, which is the new public body responsible for England's historic buildings, and English Heritage, a charity which looks after the national heritage collection of more than 400 historic places across England.

Historic England is responsible for the designation of most forms of heritage asset in England (listed buildings, scheduled monuments, parks and gardens etc, but not conservation areas or World Heritage Sites) and for maintaining the National Heritage List for England. It has a statutory role in determining certain applications affecting designated heritage assets, and advises local and central government on their protection.

The body works to protect the historic environment through grant aid, skills development, research, advice and guidance, and it maintains the Historic England Archive and Library in Swindon (see separate entry).

The SRCT has changed its name to Historic Churches Scotland. A new website for the organisation will be available here shortly.

We are a charity that saves historic churches at risk. We work with communities to secure the future of their churches through expert conservation and creative regeneration.

Historic Churches Scotland is a secular organisation that serves all denominations and faiths. It receives no statutory funding. Funding for the work of the organisation and the churches in its care comes from grant applications, donations, and legacies. Income generated by, or donated to, individual churches goes to sustain those churches and is not used for any other purpose

Historic Chapels Trust is the only national charity in England to save and protect significant non-Church of England places of worship no longer used by their congregations. With concerns about environmental sustainability becoming ever more pressing finding new uses for these buildings has never been so important.

Historic Chapels Trust is the custodian of a remarkable collection of some of the most important Grade I and Grade II* listed places of worship in England that tell the story of the Nonconformist and Catholic traditions of this country from the 17th to 20th centuries. They illustrate a variety of architectural designs and scale and represent a range of non-Anglican denominations including Baptist, Methodist, Quaker, Presbyterian, Unitarian and Roman Catholic.

We protect these chapels by offering expert advice on their care and conservation and providing funding for maintenance works. We work closely with local cimmittees and communities, supporting them in caring for their chapels, creating a plan for each site, encouraging them to develop new activities to improve income and engagement and making each chapel sustainable in the long-term.

Our work is supported by over 200 volunteers who ensure that our buildings are open and looked after. They act as keyholders and guides, and are essential in supporting local fundraising through special events.

Historic Chapels Trust is the place of last resort for these important buildings. If HCT did not exist there would be no other organisation to care for these vital strands of our history and these chapels would be at risk of loss or irreparable damage.

We hope that you will help us to care for these remarkable chapels by making a donation or becoming a Supporter or Patron.

Histoglass is widely recognised as the market leader in quality, efficacy and reliability when it comes to replacement glazing for period properties. We have an untarnished reputation thanks to our superb products and unfailing commitment to client service.

Established in 2007, Histoglass has exclusive UK distribution rights to a range of outstanding glazing products which are precision-engineered in Germany by a 60-year-old family firm. We’re proud to have a high-profile national and international client base, extending from private residences to nationally significant Grade-I and Grade-II listed buildings.

Our connections - We’re well-known among architects’ practices and large construction firms. We also deal direct with some major property owners including iconic country estates, royal palaces, famous colleges, and the National Trust and English Heritage.

Beware of imitations - Imitation is said to be the sincerest form of flattery – and we’re very flattered that a number of companies, such as Slimlite, Timbalite and Thin Sealed Units, feel they can offer units similar to ours. However, Histoglass has always been at the forefront of innovation: we offer the thinnest double glazing units on the market; our thin doubled glazing meets all six parts of BSEN-1279; and we’ve introduced MONO Sysyems, pushing the envelope of insulation in historic buildings. With 10 years of unrivalled quality and service under our belt, and a seriously impressive client list, you can be sure we’ll continue to deliver innovative products to the highest possible standards.

A planning advantage? - Thanks to our work with many planning departments, Histoglass projects are often viewed more favourably. Planning officers in some conservation areas even insist on the use of Histoglass.

All masons and carvers that work for HSA are cathedral trained, and all rope workers are level 3 IRATA trained. This ensures the quality of the work done is of the highest standards.

Being craftspeople ourselves we take a great amount of care in doing our best for the building.

'Coventry Demolition Company'(a division of Mossmead Ltd) is one of the UK’s leading suppliers of cast iron radiators, cast iron radiator valves & cast radiator accessories as well as many other reclaimed and reproduction period products.

Established in the mid 1980’s and for over 30 years, we have built up a successful business supplying reclaimed and quality reproduction products through our Architectural Centre in the Midlands and through our own web site

As well as being specialists in cast iron radiators, cast iron radiator valves and accessories, we also offer solid wood flooring and cottage doors, Victorian style door furniture, as well as unique architectural items including reclaimed bricks and tiles.

As a family run business based in the heart of the Midlands, we have established ourselves as one of the leading suppliers of reclaimed period materials and high quality reproduction pieces to assist the renovation and building of projects large and small, commercial and residential.

Coventry Demolition Company prides itself on maintaining the following key principles:

- Providing a wide and varied choice of products
- Offering excellent value for money and best value
- Providing personal and high levels of customer service at all times

These principles have enabled us to build a broad base of public and trade customers locally and more recently, with the advent of our website, nationally and internationally.

As we are also an active demolition company, we do source a large proportion of our reclaimed stock ourselves, including bricks, roofing products, flooring etc as well individual unique reclaimed pieces.

We always take sourcing the materials and products we sell very seriously. Being a member of Salvo, we ensure that we obtain the provenance and origin of items we buy where at all possible and adhere to the Salvo Code.

In addition to the reclaimed products, sourcing and re-commissioning original items and designs which are no longer freely available has become one of our specialities.

As we commission many of our products direct from the manufacturers in considerable quantities this enables us to pass on substantial savings to our customers for many identical items being sold elsewhere on the net for much higher prices.
