Managing director, Andrew Beardsley, brings a wealth of experience from previous roles as a surveyor manager, partner and director with other successful practices within the industry.

Training and Development:

Each surveyor is supported in their Continued Professional Development and training to help maintain and constantly improve our knowledge and experience base. This is not only provided by our training, equipment and software partners, but also at events organised by the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS), The Survey Association (TSA) and the Chartered Institution for Civil Engineering Surveyors (ICES).

Health and Safety:

To best protect our surveyors and clients, all of our surveyors are provided with CITB - Construction Skills CSCS Smartcard training and Mineral Products Qualification Council - Contractor Safety Passports. We have been approved for the Contractors Health and Safety Assessment Scheme (CHAS). We are also completely open to adapting to any site specific inductions and procedures.

We conform to RICS Practice Standards, UK “Surveying safely”. Our goal is to maintain constant health and safety awareness and to be a Zero Harm business.

Equipment:

We believe in using the best equipment available and all of our surveyors use the following Leica Geosystems and Maptek instruments; Precise Levels, Total Stations, 3D Laser Scanners, Surveying GNSS (Global Navigation Satellite System) and Disto Laser Measures.
Software:
To enable us to provide the wide range of products and services we offer, an extensive range of software is required. Terra Measurement is committed achieving the ISO 9001:2008 Quality Management certification and has recently begun an extensive consultation. We are committed to maintaining the highest quality throughout all our processes, from project planning to data archiving.
We are Associate members of The Survey Association (TSA).

We are a local, family run chartered surveying practice which means every enquiry, survey and client is an individual to us. When you work with us you will have direct contact with a local surveyor who will help guide you through the house buying process.

We undertake building surveys on a variety of houses, but as the name suggests our passion and expertise lays in period and listed properties. We offer the RICS home survey standard products namely the Level 3 Building Survey and Level 2 Homebuyer report, but we also give bespoke reports for our listed building surveys, defect reports and damp and timber surveys.

All of our building surveys and homebuyer reports include:

- Over 100 pictures per report. This helps us convey defects to our clients as 'a picture paints a thousand words'.
- Roof survey conducted via drone. Traditional surveys are carried out from the ground/on a ladder. Through the use of drones and pole cameras we are able to fully see every angle of your roof/chimneys/gutterings. *in some areas there are flight restrictions and we will use a 10m pole camera*
- Thermal imaging to seek hidden moisture issues, where indicated.
- Thermo-hygrometer readings to assess moisture conditions throughout the property, sub-floor vents etc, again to help find hidden moisture issues.

All our surveyors are trained to the highest standards with degrees in Building surveying, Historic Conservation and Project Management. We are industry accredited through the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS), the Chartered Institute of Buiding (CIOB), the Residential Property Surveyors Association (RPSA) and we are members of the Society of Protection of Ancient Buildings, given our obvious passion and interest in historic buildings and Building Surveying. Joe, our newest recruit lives in Twickenham, South West London and Chris is based in Richmond Upon Thames. Steve, one of the founders is based in Woodcote which is nestled in the Chiltern Hills AONB between Oxford and Reading. We also have Dave Smith down in the West country in the medieval city of Salisbury, with the knowledge vault of the company Lawrence a bit further West on the Dorset boarder in a beautiful Vilage called Tisbury, just outside the Cranborne Chase AONB. James Brennan Associates is a team of specialist Chartered Land Surveyors established over 15 years ago. We have completed an extensive number of projects across the UK and internationally, using a wide range of survey and photographic techniques. Founded in 1962 Hockley & Dawson has over fifty years’ experience specialising in the sensitive repair and conservation of historic buildings, prestigious houses and important structures and is able to combine an understanding of the methods of construction and craftsmanship with traditional or modern techniques and materials, allowing a sympathetic approach to detailing and repair, with the emphasis on minimum intervention.

Huntley Cartwright was established in 1985 in Oxted, Surrey. Within four years the practice had grown and moved to Caterham, Surrey, where we now have eight partners and employ over 30 staff.

Our team has contributed to many varied projects over the years. We have developed particular expertise working for public and private customers in education, heritage, commercial, cultural and residential sectors as well as public realm and marine markets.
