Lime Repair was set up in 2005 by Julie Haddow a lime plastering specialist of 15 years' experience.

In 2000 she was awarded the prestigious William Morris Craft Fellowship by the SPAB (Society for the Protection of Ancient Buildings) where she was influenced by notable architects, craftsmen, structural engineers and surveyors in the field of conservation.

Julie began her love affair with lime working for Capps & Capps in Hay on Wye.

"I had just completed an HND in 'Design Crafts' at Hereford where I enjoyed working with and understanding materials. My first job was mixing lime plaster and making moulds to repair a Jacobean strap-work ceiling at Llowes Court. I was in heaven just being in the building never mind using my recently acquired mould-making skills. I never set out to be a 'plasterer' but my love of materials and old buildings led me down the road to lime…."

Julie also works as a lime and historic building consultant and teaches skills for the lime trades for Lime Producers, the Princes Foundation, The New Royal Botanic Gardens in Jordan to name a few. She has made contributions to English Heritages now book – 'Mortars, Renders & Plasters, Adam Weismann & Katy Bryces 'Using Natural Finishes.'
Qualifications

The founder of Lime Repair is recognised on a national level as a 'William Morris Craft Fellow'; she has contributed to specialist books including 'Using Natural Finishes' by Adam Weismann & Katy Brice and English Heritages new 'Mortars, Renders & Plasters'.

Julie Haddow teaches on specialist lime courses for the 'Princes Trust' and 'The Welsh Centre for Traditional & Sustainable Building.' and speaks regularly for the S.P.A.B. in London on lime plastering and the need for historic buildings to 'breathe.
