We offer a consultancy service to architects and private property owners who may require advice on all aspects of historic building renovations.
These include: timber surveys and reports, preparing repair schedules for tender purposes, full Listed building applications and repair proposals for local authorities and bespoke historic building consultancy and advice. We have collaborated successfully with respected professional companies Insall Associates, Purcell Architects, EAR Shephard and The Morton Dolmen successfully tendered for the specialist timber repairs on the Nave and Aisle roofs within Canterbury Cathedral as part of the Canterbury Journey. This is a 4-year project that commenced in June 2017. The Sawmill - Dolmen runs its own sawmill and workshops that specialise in curved timbers, quarter sawing and air dried beams, from their own managed woodland in Kent, which means the company holds a large stock of locally sourced air-dried oak. |
