Representing professional wood and stone carvers (elected to membership by peer review) and founded in 1897, the association promotes the interests of its members and seeks to maintain the traditions, skills and knowledge of the craft. It also seeks to raise awareness of the abilities of the membership and the necessity of maintaining this capability and knowledge for the care of historic artefacts, the continuity of Heritage Craft and the ability to innovate.
