It is an independent state-sponsored body which has a statutory responsibility to propose policies and priorities for the identification, promotion and enhancement of Ireland's heritage, both natural and cultural. The Heritage Council provides grants for heritage management, research and for education community and outreach projects related to Ireland's heritage.
Farmers approved in the GLAS Scheme are eligible to apply for grants for the conservation and repair of Traditional Farm Buildings (eg roofs, walls, structural repairs, windows and doors) and other related structures (eg historic yard surfaces, walls, gate pillars and gates). In 2018 the closing date for receipt of completed applications is 24th November 2017. |
