A one-day course for those who live in, use or manage period properties (pre-1919). This is a valuable introduction for professionals who may need to brief their clients on improving the energy efficiency and sustainability of their homes.
With rising energy bills and the desire to cut carbon emissions high on many people's agenda, the need for sustainable, energy efficient buildings is increasingly urgent. Join us to learn how to make your home more energy efficient, low carbon and comfortable without devaluing the character or integrity of the building.
This one-day course is relevant for all those who live in, use or manage period properties (pre-1919), and is a valuable introduction for professionals who may need to brief their clients on improving the energy efficiency and sustainability of their homes. With opportunities to ask questions throughout the day, the course also offers the chance to talk over lunch and learn from fellow attendees who may be facing similar challenges.
We are celebrating the 10th anniversary of this popular course, delivered by Old House Eco Handbook co-author Roger Hunt and special guest speakers, and are delighted to return to host the course at the refurbished Grade I listed Coopers' Hall at the Bristol Old Vic.
The course will cover:
• Insulating Sold Walls
• Windows and Doors - dealing with energy efficiency
• Insulating Roofs and Floors
• Energy, Air and Water
• Ready for the Future - sustainability, maintenance and dealing with climate change
The SPAB is an IHBC recognised CPD provider and attendance certificates for CPD are available on request.
Refreshments and lunch are provided. Accommodation is not included.
The Old House Eco Handbook is available to buy with your place on the course (see fee options above). We are able to supply this popular book at a discounted price of £20 (RRP £30) exclusively for Old House Eco course participants on 18 March 2023. Please purchase your copy in advance via the course booking form. You will receive the book at the course in Bristol
